sorry he passed, but he was way overrated. Had one 10 win season. He took Texas Tech to a #2 BCS ranking in ‘08, highest in program history. He did that with athletes everyone else had passed on…… Definitely was not overrated. Maybe you meant underrated.

sorry he passed, but he was way overrated. Had one 10 win season. Still bitter about the Crabtree game? As Caymas said, he did more with less at places that were fledgling at best. And the inventor of the air raid said Leach was the one who took his idea and fixed it/made it work. He revolutionized college football offenses, but even if one disagrees with his impact on the sport, or says what he did to get fired from TTU was really awful, he was still an all-time character in a sport where most coaches are dead serious and unintentionally funny (like Gundy, Saban, Coach O, etc). Wasn’t a fan of any team he coached, but I’d watch every interview of his I could.

sorry he passed, but he was way overrated. Had one 10 win season. What?!?! Every single offense in the college and high school game today, are ran because of him. Other coaches have tweaked it to fit their philosophies and scheme, but they are based on what Leach and Hal Mumme did.

Mike Leach and overrated should never be used in the same sentence. His impact on college football is profound and will influence offense for years to come. If anything, he is underrated.

sorry he passed, but he was way overrated. Had one 10 win season. Incorrect. He won eleven twice, once at Texas Tech and once at Washington State. Neither program has ever been mentioned among the college football elite, or even the college football very good. He won with lesser talent but better coaching.

He did that at Texas Tech which was getting 3rd and 4th rate talent at that time. One of his kickers was a kid who kicked a FG during a half time contest and Leach told an assistant to go grab that kid and tell him to come to practice.
