Bought a Mustang Survival Accel 100 size medium. Which is 38-42" chest. Small is 34-38" chest. I'm skinny and tall, 6' 2", 37.50" chest, 32 waist. If I just zip it up, it's very loose. Like I would assume it's close to a 50" chest or something... Maybe it's more of a gut than chest. I can sinch the straps down pretty good and it fits snug. Kinda compresses the extra fabric and looks kinda odd. The main problem is, I can lift the top strap right up to my ear area. It seems like the snug straps kinda catch my shoulders when I'm pulling up on it... But I'm just not sure. Bought it off amazon and hate to go through a exchange process and then find out the small is too small. I checked bass pro and academy in Pflugerville area (North of Austin), didn't like what they had and neither had this vest.

I was just wearing a t shirt but do plan on wearing a winter jacket when I go out to fish, hopefully soon.

Thanks,
Swyt

My opinion here only about pfd's, but there are those you wear, fit more loose and you ever get thrown from the boat violently your going to be lucky your still in it. Most of the strap snaps come apart and/or break. The other issue with said issue, is your lucky if your awake and can hold your head above water...

All this above is why they sell impact rated pfd's . They are fitted tight and for the most part uncomfortable. You need to decide for yourself if this pfd is for the true emergency or if it's just to abandon the sinking ship and swim away.
