Is there an Army surplus by you?
Mickey mouse boots are still the standard. Any of the cold weather boots are just fine.
~$100
I spent $89 on mine. Ankle support while walking on slate rocks.

get some good wool socks, thick ones.
fishing boots for cold weather, I wear dive boots in 5mm. with the wool socks my feet stay warm even if wet (I am going on 69yo).
for out and about boots, I wear wellingtons with the wool socks. I keep them treated with saddle oil and mink oil for waterproofing and feet stay dry and warm.
something else that helps in real cold is silk socks, under the wool they will add some warmth.

Hopalong, excellent topic. However our opinion on socks might differ a bit. I wear Darn Tough Merino Wool socks. They have higher Merino Wool content, a very tight weave and are not thick and bulky. I don't like bulky as it constricts circulation. https://darntough.com/

Get you some of these and some waterproof high top boots or shoes and your feet will forever be warm. They last about 8 hours. I buy about 3 dozen a year from Amazon.

Now those are cool, never seen them before, Muck boots with wool socks and your feet will not get cold. Those feet warmers would work with regular tennis shoes, going to have to try them but i rarely fish when it is very cold.
