Nice QB comeback story after last nights game against the Raiders.

It was just one game but he was fun to watch and showed guts last night. That is a great start for getting his new team behind him.

It was against the Raiders. The Raiders have not been a very good team this year.

I checked the score last night when it was 16-3 and thought he was playing just like at Carolina.
Glad to hear about the comeback and hope Cleveland loses all there games with Watson.

It seems to me a lot of defenses plan for a specific QB so much that a backup can come in on short notice (starter injured during the game or a situation like last night where he was signed two days ago) and the defense struggles. Then, the backup falls back to earth the next week when the next team has an entire week to plan around them.

But he was fun to watch last night. Maybe he can keep it up. He seems to play well sometimes when he has a chip on his shoulder.

It was as much the Raiders trying to shoot themselves in the foot as it was Baker making a comeback.
The Raiders jumped off sides on a 4th down punt to give Baker and new set of downs.
The Raiders knocked the ball out of Bakers hands after the play was clearly over giving Baker 15 yards and first down.
The Raiders are inept.

Huh, all this time I thought that was part of the game, take advantage of the other teams mistakes. The Rams made some bone head moves themselves. Baker stepped up big when he had to.

Give him a chance with a high quality coach. A good deal for the Rams, a chance for him. Of he makes it he makes it. He got off to a good start

Any team that has a billionaire owner with a hair do like that should lose every game!! lol

If Baker will treat this as his possibly last chance at the big time and keep his emotions and ego in check, it could mean a breakthrough for him. I think he has the talent, but he can be his own worst enemy.

Baker has always struck me as a balls-out type of player. Loads of talent, but his downfall seems to be playing too close to the edge.

Sean McVay is sort of the same way as a head coach. The two of these guys together in a high-risk/high-rewards style offense could turn out a pretty fun thing to watch.

Also worth noting... Baker Mayfield is the fist really good NFL commercial guy since Peyton Manning. Playing QB in the Los Angeles TV market is bound to bring us some great new TV spots.

He's a gunslinger so you have to take the good with the bad. It's like sitting at the blackjack table and you win big or lose big.

It's a great story but it would have been an even better story if the game meant something for the Rams.

Not many 98 yd drives in the NFL and you have to have a certain cool about you (with a little luck) to get that done. Kudos to him - hope it leads to a long career with the Rams. IF so, that will be the real story.
