I was always taught to make the bed when I spent the night at someone's house, but does that really make sense? When we have guests, the bedding is always washed when they leave.

Random Monday thoughts.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Leave an area (camp usually) cleaner than you found it.

If you have to fight, hit the dude first (in the nose as hard as you can), and don't stop.

Yessir / no ma’am
Do as you’re told
Never respond to a question with “huh”
Respect for elders
Don’t act up at school
Church and family before anything else

Lessons were taught and you got one warning. After that, lessons were learned very quickly when punishment was doled out by a life long bricklayer. Greatest man I’ll ever know!

Yes, and if you can't say something nice just keep your mouth shut.

if your older brother says "hold this" .... something bad is fixing to happen.

This little thing called the Ten Commandments. Oddly enough, they still work today, for those who will listen.

I was taught respect for my elders.

When in a group of adults, I was not to speak until an adult acknowledged.
