The amount of water being let out of the lakes up here there is going to be ALOT of fresh water in the bays for quite awhile. I'm in need of a trip to POC, I love that place!!!

I was down there last weekend. Friday it poured but some fish were being caught wade fishing City Slicker flats. Redfish on shrimp and trout on croacker. Water at POC beach appeared really fresh.
Good thing it was wet, all those fireworks could have caused problems otherwise. Off topic, but does anyone know someone who hauls gravel/road base to POC?

I have not been to Port O in many years. Is it still a fishing spot or is it going El touristo like Port A. Also, is there any good places to stay that are not too expensive. Does not have to be nice, just clean. Or a house for rent for a week at a time would be OK, Anyone know of a place that fits this description and has room for your boat to park it close by. __________ Notch

Its nothing like Port A, if you go during the week, the place is a very relaxing place to be. On the weekend, its a totally different story. I do love the POC area.

Texoma Striper, the official fire works lasted a long time and I think the amateur display over by the Boggy lasted just as long.
POC gets crowded in summer when schoool is out especially on holidays. Finding a place to park the truck and boat trailer after launch is also interesting. But, Matagorda and Espirito are big bays. You can find a place to fish. It's not real touristy because there is not much to do except fish and play at the beach.

If anybody needs a room Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday in Port O, I have a room for those nights at the Port Motel available. I made reservations six months ago for a bunch of friends that backed out last week. Some friends!
I'm not looking to make money on them...just whatever the Port charges, around $100, I think.
Email me at ILDIII@MSN.COM or call 817-602-6995.
Thanks,
Buck
