[censored] rod snobs. I resemble resemble resent that remark 600 plus on a rod is crazy. I’m leaning toward the lamiglass Bruce recommended. $350 is pushing my spending limit on a fishing pole. that lamiglas is one of the best feeling rods ive had the pleasure of using. you wont be disappointed

I like a 7 to 7’3 medium heavy with a moderate tip. The moderate tip whips more allowing longer cast. It also allows the fish to suck the fluke in a little better. For me, flukes fall right behind frogs with hook up to land ratio. The medium heavy backbone let’s you drive the hook a little better.

It lacked a little power but everything else was perfect for a weightless set up. The Dobyns is 6’ 8 so it’s also a no.

Is the 6-10 finesse jig the same action as the original Cara 6-10 weightless worm.
I throw the OG and it works as advertised.

I like a Dobyns Champ XP in the 703C for that application. IMO, a real high end sensitivity is not nearly as important on a weightless soft plastic rod...70% of the time you are seeing or sensing your line moving and aren't trying to feel a subtle tick when bottom fish (vs. ticking a rock or whatever). A fast tip to be able to load up a weightless fluke and cast it 80+ft is important, as well as having just enough back bone to drive a medium wire wide gap hook into a big fish.

I like the Dobyns 733 for weightless flukes or topwaters (with mono) like yellow magics or rico's. Cant beat Dobyns warranty too!

Shimano SLX 7 ft medium heavy fast... No need to break the bank on any rod.
