I switched to Farmers after being with State Farm for 40 years. I hit a stump on Sam Rayburn in my bass boat last January. They denied claim because they said my fiberglass bass boat rusted the crack in the hull. They said I neglected to keep the hull from rusting. I dropped every line of insurance I had with them. Needless to say. Stay Away from State Farm! I told them over and over. It’s a fiberglass boat with a composite transom. It can’t rust. Claim denied.

Sounds high to me too. I just double checked. $121.22 per month.

Think I’ll give em a call.

I’m sure it helps that I have multiple policies with them.

You need to hire an attorney. Pressure them. That's horse manure not to cover your boat for that reason.

state farm sucks, they have been canceling boat insurance for all kinds of oddball reasons for a number of years now

I had a $2800 claim with them that they canceled me over years ago, they are over priced and inconvenient on marine claims

Farmers doesn't cover boats, but Foremost does and I had them for a number a years and had a L/U claim that was simple and paid in 2 days 100%, I just switched for better value a few years back

American Modern

Had two claims last year 6k for fiberglass work after running over rebar on Limestone and 3300k for chunk of anticavitation plate on lower unit knocked off at Rayburn. Both claims handled quickly and without any hasstle at all and they did not raise my premium.

Still $721 per year for 2018 Skeeter FX21 with 10k for electronics and tackle equipment.

2023 Nitro z21, I do not have min liability, have to have higher liabilities, and 10k fishing equipment coverage. $88 a month.

So many variables here. Just gotta shop it around and compare apples to apples

My sister is a State Farm Agent.

I usually just call her with a vin# and tell her to write me a policy and don't shop around.

When I called her for boat insurance, she flat out told me I did not want to insure my boat through her.

She sent me a quote, we both laughed, and then I went elsewhere.

Foremost is a subsidy of Farmers Ins.

I just got Travelers too. I didn't know about the engine warranty. I'm going to have to add that. Thank you for your post.
