SO I decided to build myself a tying station and clean up some the clutter on my desk. It is nothing fancy, but works for me for now. Cost me about $15 and a few hours

and no I do not want to make one for anyone else unless you have something good to trade wink

Very cool. It looks like you got everything covered. I like the way you mounted the aligator clips on there. Smart!

Hey Artan, I just looked at a bunch of different styles and pieced together the parts I liked and saved room for later modifications.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I have even been toying with the idea of getting an antique secretary desk (they have a front that closes everything up) and making it a complete tying desk. The wife like that idea. out of sight out of mind, I guess.

I'll post some pics of my sewing table converted to fly table as I get closer to finishing it up.I am completely remodeling my shop out back to be my new fly tying and rod building area with AC and internet/cable tv of course.

If anyone is looking for saltwater/freshwater flies (streamers/clousers..etc etc) let me know. I am also available for custom flies needing to be made.

Now there is a man with a complete plan. Good idea!
Fly, I was looking at that contraption on your desk, is that your tie machine? It looks like something I have seen in a lab somewhere, stainless precision wipple dorfs and a thermocouple gauge controller. You making flies, or creating them?

That was just an image. My fly tying desk I had was fully supported. I had a built in rotory wheel, trash bin, beer holder, flush mounted vise, peg board for all spools, acrylic tool holder, divider bins, felt pad for material layout, fluorescent light with magnifier, and a slew of other stuff. When your blind like me you need all the organizational tools you can get..lol
