Have lived in Lewisville for over 25 years now, and used to fish at the Lewisville lake barge from time to time. Particularly in the winter when it was cold, it was a decent place to go fishing without freezing oneself. Was really convenient in the past couple of years as a relatively inexpensive place to take my daughter fishing in inclement weather. Well, since it shut down this past year, we don't have that nearby indoor fishing access anymore. Yes, for as run down and poorly maintained as it was, it was still nice to have an indoor fishing area close at hand.

Can anyone suggest an indoor fishing barge type facility that's less than an hour drive from Lewisville? I know of the covered fishing dock at Ray Roberts, but that's still open to the wind in wintertime . . .

There were 2 at Joe Pool. The one at Lynn Creek is closed. There was one at the State Park on the East side of the lake. Don't know if it is still open.

That whole marina is gone at the state park side. I think a storm tore it up and they let it go

Is the one on Lake Benbrook still operating?

On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?

The answer is found in Jesus Christ who said "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

The one at Benbrook marina is sitting on dry land. That lake gets sucked down every year.

Its pushing the hour away, but highview marina on lake Bardwell may fit what you want, two inside fishing areas and super nice folks running it-

There used to be 2. One was Rocky Creek on the East side, and there was also one on the West side of the lake. The one at Rocky Creek was huge. Which one are you talking about? Are they both still operational?

Going to make an early morning trip to the Weatherford barge in the morning. Anybody have recent insight or tips?
