It's been totally fun! Had it wide open for about 50 seconds yesterday. It runs; man, it runs.

You will like that new motor, they are very reliable.

A little advice on the fuel injected Tohatsus- do not run it out of fuel like you would with a carbureted engine- it will eventually damage the fuel pump. Just run it every month or so, at least, to keep the fuel in the closed system refreshed.

Also don't push down on the tiller handle to tilt the motor up- grab the motor itself. The tiller can break, especially on the small Tohatsu's.

I've had several Tohatsu's over the decades, and you will be happy with this purchase!

Another tip, Willie: Put a security rope or chain from your motor to the boat, in case the transom clamps loosen up and the motor decides to jump off. Don't ask me why I know this! Have fun! IslandJim

Yeah, I thought about getting the shop to bolt this motor onto the transom.

I love 4 stroke motors, my current boat has the first one I've ever owned. My son and I took my rig down to the boat ramp to circulate some Stabil through the fuel system. I backed it down in the water with my son at the helm and I got out of my pickup and walked down the dock and asked him if he why he hadn't cranked it. It was sitting there idling and you couldn't even here it over the small waves coming in to the shore.
