Problem is it's still a Skeeter. See I think that is the best part. Nobody would expect it! Blazer, Ballistic, Stroker, Allison….even some BassCats. You expect them to get it pretty good. Could you imagine the face of one of their owners when a base model Skeeter rolls past them?

it would probably be like driving the 340V Ranger I had, about 16 feet in length with an XR5 150 Merc and a 25 inch predator 4 blade prop. Excellent hole shot and low speed performance but anything above 50 mph and it was pretty much undriveable. I've kicked around doing the NizPro flash on 200 SHO to 332 HP and a much larger prop but not for the insane speed it would lay down. Niz Pro's website says because you run a much larrger prop it drops the RPM's at cruising speeds for much better fuel mileage, how much better I don't know but if it is substantial and someone can show me some actual number to justify it............... Sounds like it was a pocket rocket. Steez the crazy part was this boat was actually rated for a 150 horsepower. I got it to over 70 mph with my brother in law on board for some ballast weight and almost crashed it. Never tried that again. It would chine walk something fierce but it didn't have a rythm, it just kind of danced on the water very eradically so you couldn't really work the steering wheel to get out of it at high speeds. As long as I ran it in the low 50's I could work it out of a chine walk if it started but from there up it was totally futile.

There was a guy many years ago that had a Bass Cat Pantera with a Mercury 2.5 S3000 it was rated at 300hp. That boat would fly and was oddly very stable at speed. I thought it was funny he ran Black Max decals on it as if the sound and the 4 blade cleaver prop didn't give it away!
Do something different, you will be surprised what happens. 2020 Xpress H20B 115 Yamaha SHO

I thought it was funny he ran Black Max decals on it as if the sound and the 4 blade cleaver prop didn't give it away! If you’re talking about Rocky Hansen…he still has it. I have driven the boat a few times. It’s making around 390 HP now. He has the 2.5 block with carbon fiber reeds and titanium rods. The exhaust is cutout a through a 4” port above the waterline. It is loud. But sounds pretty badass. It runs around 95or so, according to him. I’ve had it to just below 80 mph and it was very easy to drive for me. The holeshot sucks. My skeeter, with its modified F150 will leave it behind off the start…but, when he passes me it is pretty obvious that I’d never catch him. Haha. The thing is pretty awesome for an older boat. The boat is metallic green in front and fade into a metallic purple aft. The motor simply says “Mercury Racing” on it. And 2.5 on the front. I think he is running. I got a 28 prop on it. If I remember right. Probably wrong.

All that matters is the driver.... You could hang a 450 on that rig with the correct operator

Back in early 90’s a Skeeter SD 80 with a 225 was often seen at Squaw Creek

Here's Chris Bailey from CB Marine driving his Triton TR 196 with a supercharged 250 Yam SHO that makes about 465 HP. Chris has had a whole slew of bass rigs that ran into the teens but he is one if of the best wheel men in the country and knows how to set them up for optimum speed.

This is same boat before they put the NIzpro supercharger on it. Flashed Yam 250 SHO makes about 330 hp in this form.

Trying to find the new Skeeter he built for someone that ran 90+. I'll post it when I find it.
