Mink Oil, softens, conditions, and waterproofs I've been using it on leather since the 70s'.

With mink oil i heat the oven up to about 150 and turn off, put boots in for about 3-4 mins to warm. It soaks in really well when applied.

If you don't like the initial " oily " feel right after applying mink oil , another good one is shaving cream ---apply it very liberally a couple of times and let it soak .


We used to do this to "waterproof" boots. Try using a blowdryer on the leather after you rub it down with Mink Oil. Liquifies the oil and helps it sink into the leather better.

Your body fluids have salt in them. Last thing you want to put on leather.
