She was an extremely good basketball player at Baylor and played and won National championships and as far as I know was never in trouble. She was playing for a professional women's team which are not paid like the men's teams, so the women frequently play on other teams during their off season. Apparently she had a legitimate prescription for the drugs for pain.
She was openly gay but not transgender. The only reason, that I can think of, for the animosity here is racial or anti-gay. I agree that it is your prerogative to be racist or a gay basher, but not very flattering. correct not hard to figure it out either

1. The WNBA pays less because it brings in less money than the NBA.
The WNBA has never turned a profit, it is subsidized by the NBA.

I really donโt think the Griner apologist on here would be dumb enough to try flying into Russia these days with vape cartridges containing cannabis derived vaping oil. Yet they come on here defending her. It has nothing to do with her sexuality or her celebrity status, or god forbid, her race. It has to do with her total arrogance that the laws would not apply to her. It has been that way since she was a young celebrity here in this country and now she is surprised that she is in prison. Also, people in the US might show more support for her if she had shown support for her own country, rather than spitting in the eye of every American at ever game she played. To hell with her and I wish her a fine Russian vacation.
