Fished Lake of the Pine this Saturday and Sunday with my son and guide Ian McGonigal. We had good fishing and a great time. This young guide is very knowledgeable and very hard-working. First day the bite was a little tough but I think we had around 35 keepers and another 10 to 15 small fish. Second day we had about 35 but much nicer fish. My son caught a 2.27 pound fish and I caught 2 fish that were both about 1.75 lbs. Fished minnows and jigs. Can’t say enough good things about this guy. Great with his livescope and boat control. Also has a great boat and setup. We are hoping to have time to make another trip with him this winter. This was my first time to Lake of the Pines. It’s certainly a beautiful place with big crappie. Thanks again Ian!
