Hello,
I would like to pick up a trolling motor during the black friday specials.
I am looking to replace my outdated motorguide 24v, 75.
20ft Bass Boat
I would like some suggestions.
I will be installing it myself.
Parameters are as follows:
24V, to keep with my current set up.
Independent GPS, built in. I do not plan to use with my current lowrance graphs. I fish my home lake most of the time, and do not turn on the graphs alot.
Must have some spot lock/gps hold type feature, this is the main reason for the upgrade.
Budget under 2k
Thank you for the suggestions. Am I missing something?

The only thing that cheap, is a Terrova and I’m not sure they are even that cheap.

Under 2k, you will need to look at the Motor Guide xi3, xi5, and Minn Kota Power Drive. You can get a Terrova for just over $2k.

Spot loc works best when paired with your electronics.
Lowrance pairs with motorguide , Humminbird with Minkota .

I have a lowrance ghost and I love it , you can select it with 224 or 36 volt just by the adjustment and it works well with my 2 lowrance 12 carbons and 360 . Best money I have spent

For a bassboat about the cheapest you will find is a 24v Ultrex and they start at $2699 unless you want a funky mount terrova or MG Xi5. Also don't get your hopes up on a Black Friday special on any of them as supply chain issues are still alive and well in the marine electronics department.

We have a dealer that has quite a few new in the box trolling motors that are non-current models that you might just find something for your boat. He is in Scotland, Texas and his name is Steve Smith phone # 940 636 0097.
Nice guy, been in the business for a long time, I would certainly call him and see what he can help you with. He is on the forum all the time as ssmith

I have a 24v MG Xi5 on a 21' Triton and also on a 18.5' Nitro and both have been great for years. I have never used the foot pedals. I rarely use them with the graphs but they are linked and can be controlled from them. Jog feature is great. Way less than a MK...

I would suggest to wait a while till you can match a tm to a graph, the newer ones seem to do a lot better when paired with a graph.
I have a champion 202 with the garmin force and garmin graphs. on that 20' you could start with 24v then go to 36 later if you decided to with no problem with the garmin or lowrance units, not with minn kota tho.

I have used both Motorguide and Minn Kota...........I like both in your price range.I currently have an MK Powerdrive Riptide 24V 70lb with I-Pilot on my 22' Blue Wave CC that is more than enough trolling motor for a boat this size.I had to purchase a heading sensor separately to get the MK jog feature, which came standard on my Motorguide I might add.I like you do not have my TM linked to my Humminbird units as I fish my home lake almost exclusively. Now I do have a Riptide unit which you may or may not need,I paid for it because we do hit the coast once or twice a year.
Now for coin.........I purchased my current MK for about $1700 plus another $150 for the heading sensor,July 22.I believe the non-Riptide version of the Powerdrive is a couple hundred less.
I wish I could remember what I had in my Motorguide purchased a couple years ago but my memory is short and receipts are long gone.
Anyway getting into a 24V trolling motor with spot-lock and jog under $2K is quite achievable..........especially on Black Friday
Good luck

Only downfall I had with my Terrova, was the way it mounted on the bow. They don’t have a very long mounting surface and I couldn’t get all the bolts installed properly. It never broke off, but I was sure scared a few times.
