We have been running Polaris for 10 years. The older models were great but the newest ones constantly break down. We have had mules but they are more golf cart than work horse. We currently have a 6seater Viking. It's nice but loud. We also have 2 Honda pioneers but they get too hot under the seat and transmissions are jumpy. We just got these canams 3 weeks ago and so far they are great! Ride is smooth and they are powerful but seem top heavy and they are huge almost the size of my Tacoma

Not bashing any brands just stating that it is not a golf cart unless you want it to be.

Mule 4010 is just a plain work horse. I have one at the lease. 2017 with nearly 400 hours. Zero issues. That said it leaves a lot to be desired. I will be buying an FXT next. Those things are bad azz.

Of all the machines I mentioned the mule is closest to a golf cart in shape and smoothness of ride. Not bashing they are good machines

Polaris is hot garbage pure junk, Can-Am is to plasticy, I looked at one but stayed with the FXT. Honda's and Yamahas are ok for light duty or occasional use.

I have a Honda Pioneer. The only complaint is the backseat folds down into the bed. So if you are hauling passengers consistently, you have no bed.
If buying used My vote would be a Kawasaki Mule or Polaris Ranger. Honorable mention for a Kubota Diesel if you can find one. Those most likely were used on a farm/ranch and not mud bogged, etc

The new Honda is crew cab looks nice. We’ve had Ranger, Mule Pro, Gator and Can Am. Mules we’re the absolute worse riding and just seemed cheap as far as doors and body. Ranger was ok but Polaris is a [censored] company so won’t spend money on them. Gator 825! Was the most comfortable riding and seat were great. Put 8000 miles on mine . Downside they were loud. Can Am is overall the best machine.

I am assuming the Mule you had did not have independent suspension, the older Mule did ride like a covered wagon, one thing I will say, I wish they would offer bucket type seats in the front, the bench seat is not near as comfy.

I have the following
Kawasaki Mule Polaris Ranger John Deere Gator Arctic Cat Wildcat
If I was getting what I wanted (in other words without a good deal you find), I would consider:
For speed - Arctic Cat For Parts - JD For All around speed, power, etc. - Polaris For pulling power - JD/Polaris For longevity - Mule

Motor wise it’s solid but the cosmetics are just cheap.

I've got a Yamaha Wolverine X2. It's been rock solid. I would like to get a Honda pioneer - 5 for the fold down seats.

Polaris seems to be very popular. Are you going Jack it up 7ft and put skinny tractor tires on it? I’m pretty sure that’s a requirement if you live in East Texas. You’ll also need a concert sound system to blast you favorite Hick-Hop tunes. I am factory stock guy and I am damn sure not listening to any hop tunes Will it have a plug so you can warm up your chili?
God loves you just as much as anybody else!!
Jesus offered His life as a gift for you. Please accept it!

We have a 1996 Mule that is a tank, not a fast tank, just a reliable, easy to work on tank.
For ride comfort, our 2020 Kubota X1140 SxS is a comfortable tank with its independent suspension and beast-mode diesel motor.
Our 2007 Polaris Ranger 700 has been a constant maintenance nightmare, many design flaws that may have since been corrected by Polaris.
The three Polaris 500 4-wheelers we have are pretty solid.
Whatever you get, make sure you get one with independent suspension all around for ride quality and safety. Some older (2017 and older) side x sides are only front wheel independent suspension and you can feel the ride quality difference immediately!
