Yes you can freeze them, but they aren't as good as fresh, non-frozen livers. The more often/longer they are frozen, the mushier they will be when they thaw out. I get mine from Wal-Mart, if one location is out, just try another one. Great channel cat bait!

Get your wife's old bath sponge that's about to come unraveled and buy her a new one for a buck. those things are better than pantyhose to hold liver, made of mesh and can rig about 20 baits. Won't matter how mushy the livers get. Will get you into less trouble than cutting those hose up too. Finally, you can use a circle hook instead of a treble.

Lay your chicken livers out on a cookie sheet, douse with a healthy coat of OIL OF ANISE, allow to dry out in the sun. Best channel cat bait guaranteed.

I've heard of people doing the same with garlic salt too. I've never tried it myself. Might have to give it a go sometime.

Anise is a plant. I think the oil comes from the seed. It smells kinda like liquorice. As for storage...I have no clue. Maybe in a ziplock in the fridge?

you might check the krogers again as the one in my town carries the pilgrims pride brand chicken livers. I just had to ask about it to find it as it was kept in the very corner of the store.
