Are the days of shallow water anglers winning just about done other than spring? I followed the Toyota Championship on Guntersville and once again, livescoping won it. Castledine made the top 10 but only weighed in 2 dinks on the final day fishing shallow. Top guys said they were chasing bass in open water on bait. Seems this is the trend, livescope or lose. Are the bank beaters screwed except for spring time now?

Certainly feels that way. I'm sure there will be an occasional tournament where guys will win catching swallow.
I wish one of the big tournament organizations would do a "retro" tournament series where guys have some sort of limitations such as 150HP motors, limits on the number and type of graphs, etc. I'd love to see guys run 150HP boats with only 2 graphs with 2D sonar only. It'll never happen because too many of these tournaments get sponsor money from companies like Garmin, Lowrance, etc.

What baits were they catching them on? A-rig, blade bait, swimbait, jerkbait were the ones I heard the livescopers saying they caught em on.

Certainly seems like it depends on the bite, but if it tightens up and fish push out, then you better be on the graph.

I don't think so. I don't think FFS wins the majority of events and not sure it ever will. If anything everyone is gonna get off the bank and those guys that stay shallow will start to have less pressured fish.

Yeah I think you are regurgitating what the bank beaters are saying but as time goes on, they are still losing to the FFS!

Absolutely, people will always win tournaments without livescope
Spring time or river mostly!
Nope
So you are a bank beater,
Not really what I would call a bank beater. I do like to fish shallow or fish cover. But how I like to fish has zero to do with my comment.

I don't think I'm fooling myself at all. There are tons of lakes where FFS will not be a factor. i don't lose any sleep over it.

Yeah I think you are regurgitating what the bank beaters are saying but as time goes on, they are still losing to the FFS! We had guys Livescoping docks we were fishing last month. We didn't have FFS, Mega360 or SI on the boat. We had a nice weekend. Caught fish both days pretty consistently. The guys we saw LSing had a couple of runts.runs. We figured our where they were sitting on the docks and a bait and retrieve that got the bites. We did it the old fashioned way.
