well you were the bigger person, it seems like you always run into "those" people. Way to go you did great don't think I'm mature enough to not tell her and her husband where to go..

They call it fishing, not catching for a reason..

Just one cast and you could have your name in the books!

Sounds like you handled it just fine. Good job not making it a bad experience for the kids

At Fayette there was this group castnetting off the boat docks, and their small children were swimming at the ramp. I was about to back down, and I expected the parents would have the children move, but they didn't. I stopped just short of the water and waited, but nothing. I got out and asked "who's the parents of these chilren"? A woman who barely spoke english says "me". I said "there is a beach about 100 yards that way, they can swim there. They will get hurt swimming here, and I could have very easily backed over them The fellow at the gate will kick you out of the park if he sees you swimming at the ramp." She moves her kids and I back in. No one said anything else. Some times people just need to be told which direction to go, and told firmly but politely. I didn't wave my arms or scream. I could have, and I kinda wanted to, but that would have made me look like an idiot and children were present. I didn't address the kids personally, but the parents. It's not the kids faults. I would have swam at the ramp when I was a kid but my dad would have beaten me within an inch of my life.

I commend you Jlab, what kind of boat were they in I fish Pool alot, I think I know who they are and they think they own the lake.

I think you were within your right to use the dock since the piers are underwater and you can fish off those docks, I actually saw a park ranger tell a family they could fish there a few days ago. As for running over lines, well I respect them reagrdless and have on an occasion or two when fishing alone asked a lone dock fisherman to join me on the boat. Heck, I have the luxury to have a boat (not much) but why not share it sometime.

Life is too short to live it pissed off.

That has to be the coolest post Ive read in a long time,

Just goes to show that there are some good people left in the world....Taking someone on your boat that I assume you dont even know is the epitome of class,And Im sure he appreciated it!!

Yea, until he asks the wrong guy to jump on his boat. Some maniac, possibly a murderer..... ever thought about that?
