I am using a 10' extension on my tranducer and the screw type barrel connector is going to be underneath the deck of my pontoon boat. Is this connector waterproof or should this connector be located above the deck?

There is no Humminbird Helix transducer extension cable with a "screw type barrel connector". What connection are you referring to?

I'm using the Ulterra build in transducer. I have a 10' extension between the TM and the 6' cable from the Helix head unit.

OK, you have a Minnkota built-in MDI or MSI transducer with the 14-pin SOLIX plugs. There is a gasket in the plug with the lock nut that seals the connection. Makes no difference if it is covered or exposed.
