There are way to many to tell depend on where you fish and how deep.
1. slip float over a small pinch weight with a hook about 1 foot under the weight.
2. a slip weight with some kind of a stop then a hook (like a C-rig)
3. a 3 way set up with the weight about 6 to 8 in down and the hook about 1 foot down
line I use 15 lbs
weight I use 3/4 oz bell
hook I use about 10 diff kinds. (but a Reg J hook works
Hope this help
John

Give a child a fish and feed him for a meal.
Teach a child to fish and they stay hooked on something else besides drugs and violence.

I use 12lb test minimum, never know when a decent Cat will come along. I use egg sinkers, slide them on, add a snap swivel, then I add a 2/0 eagle claw snell. This method makes it tangle free... thumb

No prob you will find out over time that there are a lot of ways some you will like and some you will not just pick the ones you can do and like and have fun with them.

slip shot, 1 1/2 foot leader, small-medium egg weight on the lead line before the leader(barell swivel on line attached to hook) great for channel cats because it keeps resistance minimal, and resistance is a major reason you lose bites
