If there’s one piece of advice I can give other anglers right now, it would be to fish shallow. Whether we met at Cedar Creek or Whitney, the depth we did our best was always the same. 4-12ft of water is pure magic right now, and I’m really liking how these fish are acting as the water temps continue to drop.

The striper on Whitney are all coming off of the Heavy Glow Thump Boss, which I’m rigging on either a 3/4 ounce jig head, or on umbrella rigs. In both scenarios, I’m asking the customers to cast out, let the bait touch bottom, and start reeling. The fish are taking care of the rest. Shallow, wind blown flats are treating us the best.

As for CC, the sandbass seem to be most prevalent on main lake humps and points, that range from 6-12ft. Depending on the school, we’re using 1/2 slabs or the famous HellPet rig. As the water temps continue to dip down into the 60s, we will no longer need to troll, typically speaking.

We now have 10/27 open on Lake Whitney, and this Friday and Saturday (10/28 and 10/29) are now open on Cedar Creek. The customer that had both of those dates booked has completely ghosted us. Looking ahead, we have some spots open in November as well:

11/1
11/3
11/5
11/7
11/11
11/14
11/17
11/19

$400 for 2ppl, with each additional person being $100. We can talk fishing at 817-266-9811, or you can learn a little more about us at www.dfwoutdoors.com
