I have been running as many trips as I can handle and have been doing well!
I have been very fortunate to have run mostly repeat clients this year from last year and I really hope that continues.
Fish have been caught on brush, rocks and timber anywhere from 9ft to 25ft depending on the lake with 10-17ft being the better range. I have been using a mix of jigs and minnows depending on clients skill levels and what the fish want that day and both have worked well. Pitching over cover has really been triggering fish to bite lately for me. Been using BnM poles for all my fishing as well. Sam's Super Sensitive 7 fters and 8 ft Russ Bailey Signature Series have been doing all the lifting for us. Water temps have been oin the mid to lower 70s and I believe all the lakes have turned over at this point. I have already started to find fish leaving brush and hanging out on rocky points/ledges which tells me these fish are getting ready to move out to their winter homes. Once that water gets in the 50's, it will be time to start walking the banks if I can find creeks with enough water this year.
I have been fishing several lakes but have spent most of my time on Gvine and she has been super hit or miss this year. Lavon has been fishing the best and I would say Lewisville after that. Ray Roberts has been fishing well too and if you don't mind weeding through the dinks, there are lots of keepers on core piles and timber. I even got to go up to Texoma to fun fish and the bite was absolutely horrible with lots of dinks. I think the lake is in a down cycle at the moment.
I am now on baby watch with my wife as she can go into labor any day now so I am not sure how much I will get out in the coming weeks but as soon as I can I hope to run some trips and do some filming.
I have got some BIG plans for next year and I really need all the support I can get. I have some things in motion that are very different and should be very helpful to most crappie guys in the DFW.
Please check out my Youtube link below or my website that has all of my social media links on there. I really appreciate it!
Below are some of the pics from trips. Several others thrown in where we didn't keep fish or I just flat out forgot to take pics
