Just got a 2000 triton tr21 and looking to mount 2 units side by side on the console in front of the gauges. What mounts are you guys using? I’m trying to stick to a budget if possible. I’m only going to mount 2- 9” models.

I am running two 12 inch units side-by-side on a 1999 Ranger. I used two Precision Sonar Lockjaw mounts. With all the gauges used in older boats it’s hard to find space for a regular dual mount. I’d post a photo but am away from the boat this week. It was a pain getting it all installed, but what I have works great. Those mounts were $140 each, so not cheap. They are heavy duty. Graphs don’t move at all in rough water.

My other idea if those mounts didn’t work was to fabricate an aluminum plate that covered the dash and only keep the essential gauges. Thought I could even move them around so a more traditional dual console mount could be used. One other thing to keep in mind is you will have to watch for clearance between the steering wheel and the two units. My set up allows me to barely get the covers on and off the units because the steering wheel is that close. They make spacers for the steering wheel if it is an issue. Older boats were not designed for the dual units on the console so a lot of thought is required to make it work. I had my doubts when I was thinking of running the dual units and looked at a lot of mounts before I decided to try the lockjaw mounts.

You could also use the D ram mounts, but your units will move. I original had one 12 inch unit on a Ram, and it was constantly moving no matter how hard I had it tightened down. They will certainly give you more adjustability in getting the units where you want them. If you don’t fish when it’s rough then it’s not an issue.

I have mine stacked on the right. All the dash is original.

I was Originally going to put them on the right but I intend To use them both for side scan. With that said I need them horizontal instead of vertical.
