Pa surrendered his keys at 84 years old. Wasn't physical but mental.

My dad drove 5 miles into town to get the mail via braille for the last 10 years of his life. He’d get it aimed generally at the road-ish and when he felt the tires leave the road, he’d correct in the other direction. Trash cans, bicycles, or slow moving pedestrians never had a chance.

Wife changed from a Drivers License to a State ID around 65 because of failing eyesight and because she got real nervous driving in traffic. She really hadn't driven for about 15 years at that point. It's a case by case basis. VA has a tough time with me, I drive after coming out of sedation from surgery when I'm supposed to have a driver to take me home. It did get me out of my last colonoscopy when I told them that I didn't have a driver and would have to drive myself home after the procedure. LOL!

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Have a client in her early sixties with a degenerative condition. Her children had to take her to the doctor and between them convinced mom that it wasn't safe for her to drive any longer.

I also know a number of octogenarians from my mom's church who are perfectly safe drivers.

It's not the age itself. It's the fitness of the person to drive.

My wife got t-boned at Legacy and 121 by an older guy who was texting and driving. I try my best not to do it myself. It's hard to keep from doing it.

60 sounds about right. Probably should take their guns away too.

Well, I'm 73 and drive 85 pulling the boat and never killed anyone yet. If I start to fail I will know it and will hang it up.
