They just announced that Squaw will be opening again on Oct 1st. For those of you that just like to chase channel cat, its one of the best channel cat lakes I have ever seen.
Pull up to any tree in 20-25' of water and Its almost impossible to keep 2 rods in the water at the same time.

Cant wait to get out there again and get a meat haul going again. Looking forward to drowning some Stubby's out there soon.

Well this weekend wasn't a let down at all. Caught over 50 fish each day.

If your wanting a fun day of catching and not fishing then you need to get on the Squaw. Just about any standing timber you tie up too will produce. Seriously we caught them from the river(10') to the island (30').

I was out of Stubby's so i picked up some Sure Shot punch bait from our local tackle store Tackle Depot. Been impressed with it for a long time, but this container didn't seem to have as much fiber in it so it wasn't clumping onto the treble like normal.

Anything will work. Guys next to us up in the river were going straight chicken breast and wearing them out.

It’s in between Granbury and Glen Rose

It’s the cooling lake for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power plant

Oh it was nothing but a slug fest. You cant get the bait to the bottom without already being hooked up. Caught 40-50 fish before we called it a day and went to try to catch talapia.

I'm thinking about borrowing my dad's boat and going out there with an old college buddy that lives over that way. Did you fish along the river channel? I've been out there once in my kayak, but didn't go up to the north end.

You can straight across from the ramp to the trees across the cove and drop down to catch them.

You can catch them up in the river yes. But i dont like to fight they boat traffic up there.

between the island and the rock house is just as good.

Good to know, thanks. Those trees across from the ramp are where I caught a couple fish when I went in my kayak. Paddled out to the island and fished those trees with no luck. This was the second weekend it was open, though, and the water over there was hot!
