Meeting my parents for lunch next weekend in San Marcos. What are the go-to restaurants there?

100 years ago I ate breakfast at the Blue bonnet cafe. Or was it Marble Falls. It was on the main drag. Just a hole in the wall place but pretty good. Now that I think about it. It was Marble Falls so never mind. I'd delete, but I'm trying to reach Hop's post count.

It's only an hour or so from San Marcos. Good try though.
Blue Bonnet is pretty famous. It's all about the pie. Everyone knows about the pie.

Can’t go wrong with Hays County or San Marcos BBQ. On a weekend go to the San Marcos BBQ on Hunter Road to beat the crowd. We really like Kirby Lane on Sessoms right now for something different. It’s crowded though so go early. Italian Garden downtown is good too and super cheap for what you get. If you do dinner instead of lunch I would recommend Palmers but Root Cellar is great too.

For lunch, go to Gil’s for a burger and get a cinnamon roll or whatever they call it.

Good old Herbert’s. I went there earlier this year and it was just as I remembered from 1990. Double fried chimichangas rice beans was cheap and filling, perfect for all them broke college kiddos.
