Very cool. Looking at Earl’s hands makes mine hurt. he took a beating i know why his legs hurt i was surprised at his hands

Earl is a super guy. I met him in the year he went to New Orleans. It was 1984 I believe. In the off-season he and Bum came to a dinner in The Woodlands to meet a doctor my wife worked for. The doctor traded Sports Memorabilia, a bunch of it. Earl had a football camp. If the doctor sponsored some kids Earl and Bum would sign whatever the doctor want. They both signed a obscene amount of stuff. They never said one word of complaint. They were in it for the kids. Bum was doing it for Earl. As a 22 year old kid it was awesome to go to dinner. I thought “wow ,they are normal guys.”
Close to 40 years later the doctor had done a long prison sentence for prescription drug trafficking, Bum is gone and its been two more wives….lol.
Earl is still a great guy even with all the pain he has been through. Lots of great stories from people who have met him.
