The recent price reduction was all it took for me to place a order for the Active Target Transducer with Russell Marine. Took me about a week to get installed. I ordered some parts for my transducer pole from ArcLab (a Canadian company). I liked that you could order the various parts of their system instead of having to purchase the whole enchilada. Instead of their pole, I built a pole using an extendable wash brush I had in my shop. It fit the ArcLab mounting bracket perfectly. I can easily swing the pole up and around and place on my front deck for traveling. When moving from spot to spot today, I just pulled the pole up so the transducer was out of the water. Customer service for ArcLab was top notch. Got out on water this afternoon and was able to locate fish right off without making any changes to any of the default settings. Dropped a crappie jig down to them and could see them come up to take a look. They were hesitant to take it though and that is the only rod I had rigged for crappie in the boat. Mostly wanted to try it out to be sure I had the install right. Now the learning process begins !!
