We went back on Saturday and the flow of the river had already slowed down enough to fish. The water looked black at the boat ramp. We headed to the spillway and fished there for a while. We caught a few catfish a bass and some big bluegill while Rocko relaxed and cooled off in the water.







We fished there for a while then moved on and went upstream. The water was cloudy upstream. We fished where the river and creek come together and there we found a couple of cute little Rios, some crappie a small channel and a gasper gou. It's a good spot it always has shade and fish.









We fished till dark then headed back to land where our 4runner was parked and Leo put out the gar poles and I was grilling fajitas while we waited for a bite.




We had a couple of runs, but the gar just weren't committed. The tacos on the other hand were delicious 😋
Most fish were released to swim another day except for a few sunfish and the gou we kept for gar bait.
We will be back, not done hunting for them rios.

excellent report, and the food looked dbl excellent...posta b upper 90's this week at Murvaul, so gonna pace myself and hit it next week in the 80's / 60's

Great report PL ! Super nice pics. I caught a long nose gar while fishing for bass at Choke Canyon one time. I decided to clean it just to see what it was like on the plate. One of the best eating fish I’ve ever had !
