I was looking at fishing cedar creek lake. I was going to fish kings creek that runs into the lake. I know during the spring there is a lot of white bass and hybrids. Is kings creek good during the fall and if so what kind of fish and any tips would be apreciated

They catch a lot of crappies under the 274 bridge area in the spring and fall.

Go to the below page for the information you are seeking. This guy knows his stuff and has a map on his signature that gives spots to try.

harperbird,

Cedar Creek is a good fishery, lot of sandbass, some hybrids, crappie and some big blue cats.

Kings Creek comes into the lake on the north west end. The lake is almost 4' low right now, and the north end is very shallow. While the water around the 334 Bridge between Seven Points and Gun Barrel City is 20', the lake gets shallow pretty quickly as you go north from there. There are boat ramps at both ends of the 334 bridge. Just be careful as you go north. Lot of stumps. Up where I would actually call the Kings Creek area, is very shallow right now, and a lot of it will be dry with vegetation growing, as the lake has been low all summer. The big rains we got a few weeks ago brought the level up a foot or so, but most of that has evaporated back off since then.

As Spacejunkie listed above, the maps that Mr. Dennis Christian puts out, along with his post in the white bass forum, will give you a lot of options for chasing those. Most of that fishing is on the south end or middle part of the lake, but they do catch some north of the 334 bridge if you know where to look. You can also use topo or Navionics's charts to find humps, creek channels, etc. I have not tried to catch sand bass or crappie that far north.

The Blue cat fishing is really good in the lake, and as it cools off some (soon we hope), they will start biting more. Mr. Jackie Kennedy guides on Cedar Creek for blue cats, and has been doing it for a long time. He is a great resource, and a good teacher if you want to learn some about blue cats and or Cedar Creek.

Good luck!

Ken

2014 Premier Alante 235 RF tritoon. Momma's boat. But I get to fish on her.

A country boy will survive... but those who cross him?

Cedar Creek personal best:
Blue Cat 31.55 lbs
Hybrid 6.2 lbs
Crappie 2.1 lbs
Tennessee River Blue 45.7
