What do you season yours with? Had a cow butchered and SIL gave me some of these. All I have as far as pellets for my Z-Grill is apple. That may work for smoke.

SPG sounds the way to go but I am concerned about using the rest of the apple pellets in the hopper. I'm not able to take them out bc of the way the hopper is made with at non-removable grate on top. But going to use it anyway tomorrow.
