I didn't know anything about Mark Mathias when he showed up in a Rangers uniform. Didn't know where he came from or we he had been or statistics or anything. The first few games I watched him I was intrigued and thought he looked like he had a decent approach at the plate. Then I watched him some more waiting for holes in his swing to be exposed by pitchers but he kept having good at bats. Then I watched him some more and thought to myself how great his approach is at the plate and how controlled he is and is consistently making good contact. Now I am at the point where I keep thinking that this guy is just an awesome hitter. He not only makes consistant contact but in a controlled way Crushes the ball.
Now my only thoughts of this guy is why we don't hear more conversation about how he definitely needs to be in the Rangers plans. He hits, is controlled but has a ton of confidence and fire in his playing.
I'm just a Ranger fan that see's some really good things for the future for this club at least on the offensive side and just think that Mark Mathias should be one of the main cogs going forward with this club.
