I was just wanting to know if you are still able to launch a boat there? I have a 17.5 tracker. Any help appreciated.

Lake is about 3 feet low. I launched my 20' basscat Sunday. Ramp is slick and steep, but doable. Better if you have a 4 wheel drive. Make sure you trim your motor waaaaay up getting in and out.

I haven't been out there in 6 weeks because of the ramp situation. Banged my skeg getting out and before that tore up a prop. If you have to power load your boat to get it back on the trailer you are likely going to hit your motor and cause damage. Whomever designed/built that ramp made some mistakes and the low water has made it much worse.

With a Tracker you might be ok.

I eased my boat onto the trailer, got out, hooked up the strap, and winched it in. No problemo.

Glad you could get in and out with no issues. I have a 21 foot Ranger and 2 wheel drive Tahoe. Never had any trouble pulling the boat out there. Unfortunately my trailer sits higher than most. Not sure I could even get it off the trailer now and I cannot crank it up without some assist from the motor.

Was out August 27th before and rains...no issues getting in and out then...was it low, yes. It was about 3 foot below courtesy dock next to ramp..

Seen it lower last year.

Any update on the ramp? Still possible to launch a boat? I normally don’t even power up motor to get boat off trailer anyways

One local guide is launching his 19' Nitro ok. Another guide wrecked the prop on his 21' Skeeter launching earlier this week. Be careful!

I ventured out to Walter E Long/Decker without the boat.....WHOA baby!...I was surprised how low the water is. Seen it low before, but today was a surprise.

At first glance, I thought oh, no problem my new bay boat can handle shallows....not sure I will try it in October....here are a few pictures taken about 45 minutes a part. Took the first when I arrived, the second when I saw someone come in and trailer their boat....enjoy!

Whoever built that ramp needs to be keelhauled repeatedly and often

The ramp could be improved. The city has to apply for a boat ramp grant from TPWD. The money is there for the asking. Since they aren’t using the power plant they don’t pump water into the lake. My guess is the water will be low every fall. The prop repair people love this ramp. I’ve donated to them several times because of this POS ramp.

Haven't been there in years. Are they letting the hydrilla grow again? Used to be a good bass lake, even if small.

Still very low. They pumped some water and it is up 1/2 inch. Saw someone on Keep Austin Fishing facebook page power load a Nitro onto the trailer, so I guess it can still be done if you have a trailer that sits low enough and don't mind taking a chance on damage. Thought I saw his prop throw a rock when he gave it the final push in the same video.
