Looks like they are simulcasting this one on their website and FS1 so you can still watch if you don't have FS1

So Trey Swindle didn't have proper insurance and was disqualified. Makes you wonder if he had proper insurance all year for the other opens?
Also, looks like Keith Poche requalified for the elites.

What a doofus, I remember when Martens got dq early in his career for forgetting to buy a fishing license in the state they were competing in.

For Trey, that's a definitely a lesson learned the hard way.

They just updated points......Poche still ended up 3rd in Northern AOY and the Top 3 in points remained unchanged.

Poche is probably going to end up double qualifying If he does then the invite he gets comes from the Northern invites and next guy on overall AOY gets the AOY invite. It was kinda confusing when I read the process on www.bassmaster.com and I ended up asking someone more knowledgeable on it.

Not likely it changed for this event, unless he just renewed (and even then, doubtful coverage would have changed/dropped down), so would suspect it's been that way all year, or at least as long as his current policy has been in effect. Unfortunate, but rules is rules as they say. Don't know if it would/could affect previous events - I mean it would be simple enough to check coverage in effect on ealier tournament dates, but whether BASS wants to pursue it is another matter. A hard lesson learned, but we've all had hard lessons at some point in our lives I suspect. Still you feel bad for the guy..

Didn't realize they changed that and a good change for sure, last year it was stupid that the berth came from the overall AOY • If an angler qualifies in the Top 3 pros in the overall AOY and a Division, the berth will come from the Division and an additional spot awarded to the overall AOY. Next year all 9 Elite births come from overall opens AOY, another good rules change IMO.
