I checked out lower lake Whitney for the first time and really struggled. Reminds me of Texoma which I also struggle On. I just can’t seem to catch fish on deep clear bluff wall type lakes. Lake is beautiful though so I want to learn. Any tips?
PS I didn’t go north of Katy bridge. I might check out up there next time.

I only fish mainly north of the katy bridge. The other day I only caught fish in about 20-25 ft of water on trees, but close to bluff type walls. I've caught fish down there every type of way. It just seems to change a lot and pretty fast if you're not staying on top of it. It's a fun lake when you get the hang of it.
Every fish I caught the other day was off LiveScope too. I'm not a big Scope guy, but that's what it took for me to get bit.

whitney has been fishing tough this year and september is not a good month to fish it. September and October are very inconsistent.

Bill Wilcox told how he learned to fish Whitney on one of his shows. it's Time - Time on the water - he states this in the presentation of a lake before every show. For instance on Whitney he stated he was young and his job allowed him to be off on a week day like Tuesday or Wednesday. He said he fished it on his day off every week for a full year, wrote down notes, and places, time of year, water level, water temp, wind conditions, and all that. And said he fished every inch of shore line in that year. That was over 20 years ago, he can still go out there and smash em.

Wilcox keeps note books on most every lake he fishes. His Cedar Creek Lake note book is full of pictures and notes on specific docks.

That’s awesome. I need to start doing that. Unfortunately most of my notes would consist of what not to do and where not to fish lol
