Cedar Creek, Ray Roberts, Texoma, and Cooper is a sand bass haven.

You catching any hybrids on cooper dan-o? I have done some research and they used to be stocked there, but I must be looking at the wrong TPWD website because I don't see any hybrid stockings for cooper.

I have done some research and they used to be stocked there, but I must be looking at the wrong TPWD website because I don't see any hybrid stockings for cooper. The ones I've been catching on Cooper are all about 12 in. long. They are few and far between. Every time the lake gets up and they open the gates a whole bunch of hybrids leave the lake. A wildlife biologist told me that they can sense when the gates open. They will go to them. My sons catch a bunch behind the dam when they are open. If I was looking for hybrids I'd go to Tawok.

True Bass: Cedar Creek Lake is loaded with white bass - many fish on many structures, and size is typically 12 to 4 inches with a few 15 or 16 inch fish. There is a link to a map of the structures in my signature block. Tawakoni is also a great white bass lake - good numbers and the average size there is larger than Cedar Creek.

The East Texas lakes are far superior to the lakes we in W'ford refer to "home lakes". Bridgeport and PK. I am referring to finding sand bass and catching them. The crappie are different .

Are the white bass around the dam area in open water? I usually fish around the 515 west side area and have not seen Them schooling. Just a random fish while crappie fishing.
