Make sure the boat has a big fish box with a drain. You'll need somewhere to put the beer.

I have an express 20ft bay. It’s plenty big enough for us with grandson. I have never used it in the bays and never plan too. Perfect for bass, crappie and catfish on Texas lakes. Serves my purposes well without being too big. It is aluminum so it is an easy tow behind my truck. My Planning on sticking to Fiberglass. I had an Aluminum boat a long time ago and it just blew around to much for me. I’m not to concerned with towing and weight since I’ll be keeping in a slip. Aluminum is fine if you don’t mind getting the snot knocked out of you every time there’s even a slight chop

The other thing about a trailer is, check whatever trailer you get very well, get aluminum, and try to stay away from swing away tongues, my experience is they tend to buckle at the swing away part. Boat trailers aren’t cheap and there are some companies that don’t have a very good one.

I have a Nautic Star 231 Hybrid (23 foot) and love it!! It can pull skiers, has high sides so you don’t have to worry about people falling over the sides, especially little kids. Has a 250 Yamaha SHO with plenty of power. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/09/full-81479-151993-4770c144_c1b1_4762_a2d6_91b2fba23600.jpeg)

Magic Tilt is the trailer it came with. The axles were bent from the factory and MT came out and replaced them under warranty after I chewed up the tires. I replaced the POS tires that came on the trailer (they replaced worn out tires with same tire it came with) with Goodyear Endurance and now much happier with the way it pulls. The MT rep was great to work with, they came to my house and fixed the trailer. I’m very pleased with their customer service as a result of the local rep. I added a Ramp-N-Clamp and love it. The main gripe I have with the MT trailer is the way it was designed for this boat, the trailer doesn’t stick out far enough for the rear straps to correctly pull down on the back of the boat to secure it. Doesn’t appear to me that they actually built this trailer specifically for this boat. Looks like a one size fits all. Other than that, love the boat for our needs.

I’m curious what the other options are for a trailer for this boat.

I’m curious what the other options are for a trailer for this boat. I don't see a problem with your trailer. However, possible changes could include moving the boat forward on the trailer if you can afford the tongue weight or having an aluminum shop add some material to the back of the trailer for better strap alignment. Of course, there's always the option of having Coastline make you exactly what you want. I replaced the trailer on my last bay boat with a new Coastline, they'll make it exactly however you want it.

Learnin to fish- that’s a sweet boat! The nautic stars have some nice features- they seem to be a notch better than most bay boats
