We really need some help with a Telephone, Internet installation , my Wife has been the sole handling person of this, a few days ago there was an interruption of telephone service, she attempted to fix it, even buying new telephones (Hard line). Now we still cant get telephone service, help is need from someone to make the correct routing etc. we are willing to pay, not gratis, or talking her thu her cell service might help. ????? I admit to my stupidity in this however she is the one needing the help. and no this not an attempt to increase post count . soap PM's will be answered. A location visit would be the ultimate .

call who you pay for the service and ask them why no phone, they may have dropped some lines when it fired back up.

Hop,

We do have service to the house, it seems to be in the various telephone/computer routing connections. ie: router, OOMA , etc.

It could be the router....we have fiber internet and one day we lost everything. Traced it down to a bad router....

Only 2 things I can think of if it's only the phone VOIP that isn't working. A setting might have gotten reset in the router to where she will have to access the router and remap/turn back on the VOIP inside the router. The other is a strange thing that happened to me. We had a power outage. The router rebooted before the ISP modem came on line. Some things worked, some didn't . Talking to my ISP they told me that the modem needed to boot up prior to the router. So shut everything off, shut down the router, restarted the ISP modem, once it was up and running restarted the router, once the router was up and running I turned everything else on and everything was working again.

My Ooma telo went bad on me a couple of weeks ago without any warning. You could try:

  • Take your Ooma telo to where your cable modem is located.

  • Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ooma telo and connect Ooma to power.

If still no phone you might have to call Ooma for help. If you go that route good luck; hope you have better luck with the call center located in India than I did.

When rebooting everything unplug from the wall and wait 5 minutes before plugging back in. I had a router that it wouldn't restore all setting unless that was done
