Anyone on here have a good source to rebuild a CAT 3024 engine?
Machine is a CAT 242D skid steer.

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

Stay away from Warren Cat, by the time you get the bill for a rebuild you coulda bought a new skid steer.

Its been a few years ago but we lost an engine in a Cat 259, ended up finding a refurbished engine for it.

I found a refurbished engine in Houston for $4800. Still hunting but that’s not sounding terrible.
CAT wants $15,700 for a replacement engine. That doesn’t include install….

CAT just called me back. They said it doesn’t make sense for them to rebuild a skid steer engine due to cost. BUT, they can get me a replacement for $15,756 and they can do the install for $24,500. Wow!

Wow, $8700.00 for the install. It's a skid steer, not an airplane. Do they have a 'Please Back In' sign on the door?

No lie. I like their equipment but good grief, a little reasonable support would be great.
