Just listened to it. I think Matt has some valid points, but also went a bit too extreme on his rant. I don’t see ugly stick minding the antic at all, they have some pretty “out there” YouTube commercials with Robertson.
And I don’t think Robertson is playing a part, that man is 100% pure hillbilly and that’s fine, as long as his sponsors are good with it.
Pangrac needs to give up on his dream, that boys never gonna make it on the elites.

Pangrac needs to give up on his dream, that boys never gonna make it on the elites. I met Robertson and know some people that grew up with him and he seems to be 100% just being himself. I bet he has a list of happy sponsors today. He is in the Top 10 for AOY heading into the last event and both through his fishing and his pranks he is always getting sponsors some airtime. Its good to see people not take themselves so seriously. Its bass fishing and not high society to begin with. Let the man be himself.

Matt Pangrac has tried unsuccessfully for years now to qualify for the Elites and he's not even close to making it this year. Maybe he should reach out to Robertson for fishing lessons. In my opinion he should try to figure out how Robertson catches them everywhere they go and not worry about him fishing in his undies. He catches them EVERYWHERE he goes because he rooms with Fieder & the Johnston brothers. Listen to some interviews, they throw each other bones when one of them isn't on something. But who was throwing him bones when he made the Classic through the Federation then again when he made it through the Opens. Who helped him when he finished high enough in the Opens to qualify for the Elites? The guy can flat out fish. Even better is that he does not come from money and paid his own way there. I pull for guys like that. Most regular people can relate to someone that does it that way.

I agree. Pangrac was a great second banana but that show just sucks without Jefferies

It worked, he is getting more attention today than the guy who won the event.
I have been a BTL fan for years but if Matt is going to talk about what looks bad for the sport he should start with having Soukoup on the show and not addressing the snagging video.

Ok, I’ve been thinking harder about this, (because I hate my job so much). If a guy went to a park, school, church, shopping center, etc…. and dropped his pants, would he get arrested or what exactly? I know this was basically “off air” tv in a private setting, but I’m starting to see how this could be considered unacceptable. I don’t know, the damn worlds just so screwed up now, you can’t even poke fun of stupid things like this.

They would probably be asked to leave and if they did not comply then obviously they could be arrested but wearing underwear in public is not a crime. If so then swimsuitts would get people arrested. There are areas and places I am sure that local ordinances are written regarding dress attire in those places but I would not think its an arrestable offense without some other situation taking place.

Did this happen on one of the smallmouth tournaments? If so he was probably just trying to make it interesting for the viewers.

I highly doubt if a game warden or sheriff rolled up on the water that they would do anything. I mean I see people all the time in next to nothing out boating and such. Idk. I don’t see it being that big of a deal

No doubt, I've followed him since he won his spot from that team tournament in Florida for his first Classic. He makes me laugh. But by his own emission, he stunk it up when the tour went north last year. He spoken about his house buddies helping cut that learning curve down. Robertson & Livesay are probably the two most relatable for me. Normal, hard working folks making it work.

They must really be giving him the juice because he is currently ahead of one of the Johnston brothers and Feider in angler of the year standings. I guess they put him on them and then just get out of the way.
