Opti sent me a message early this morning. From his message it was pretty obvious that he is a professional who cares about the work that he does.
I just now responded to his message, so that is where we stand right now.

I would be willing to bet just about everyone on this forum that has owned a boat or numerous boats has had a problem with a dealer or a mechanic. It's the samething at the car dealerships soemtimes thing's work out the way you think they are suppost to sometimes they don't work out like we think they should. That being said I think they will try to make thing's right for the guy.

They new it wasnt getting spark because you check this along with a compression test..Most good marine shops do this...aka opti at northtexas...No need to put sterring cables on a motor that wont run or has bad compreesion...Hard to check the water pump to after its installed if motor wont run...Compression test and check spark looks like opti was doing the basic checks..He found a problem and fixed it...Bet theres nothing wrong with the way motor runs...

maybe things have changed since Opti got there. my issues were in oct and nov of last year. you can take a boat to who ever ya want, but i would never feel comfortable after the incompetant way my issues were handled. ended up costing me a new powerhead. things change, and hopefully for the best.
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

Ok guys apperently yall have figured it out yea I did the work and I have already IM the gentleman on getting it back to me and solving this problem I take full responsblity for this and it was very bad oversight on my part If you talk to many people I'am 99.9% anal when it comes to my work and comebacks piss me of even more than it does the customer If I was crook or a person that didnt give a sh#%$t about his work and rep then I would not still be in this business for over 20 years All I can say is I'am sorry to Mr Duck Iam a very good technician but Iam also human and humans make mistakes. As for the work that was done He brought the the boat in for a cable and waterpump before doing this work I do my normal pre inspection like compression and run engine The engine is a early 80 85 hp merc and it was only firing on 3 cylinders so needed a switchbox Trim did not work at all it was full of water and trash rebuilt and clean hydralic system but still didny function pump would run but no up or down thats when he was told he needed a new trim motor and pump install new pump all good the reason for the thottle cable popping of is I overlooked tightening the jam nut My fault and on the trim going up the remote trim switch must have gotten water in it from all of the rain. Thats all I have to say about this matter as for others that mention in so many words I do what say I do and dont half [censored] any work I do I've been here at NTM for 3 mounths and for everything that happened before that I have no control over that but I can control what goes out of here when comes to a outboard.....OPTI Now this is a rarity. The man made a mistake and is living up to it and by the sounds of it, he doesn't make very many of them. Though I do all of my own service, you can bet I will take my boat to opti if it's something over my head. Kudos to you opti.

What are you showing???Everybody makes mistakes...Opti is not taken care of this because of this forum ...Hes taken care of it because he cares about the work he does and also because hes an honest person..From talking to opti we could write a book about the stuff we have worked on that other shops have really screwd people on..Probally the best merc tech in texas....
