If you are looking or if you know anyone looking for a job and are interested in surveying, the company I work for needs instrument operators and party chiefs.

Even if you don't have experience, you may be considered for the instrument operator position.

Link to either position:
Party Chief
Instrument Operator

What is it with companies these days? Once again, there is a guesstimated Indeed salary range. Any respectable company should know how much a position pays and post it. Everyone wants to pay a salary from 35 years ago but wants you to have 35 years of experience.

Be safe,

Yes, them and TXDOT. I went out yesterday to help the survey folks out because they're so busy right now.

I'm sure there's opportunities out there too. Even a surveyor subconsultant we use for a lot of work is slammed right now too.

I’d only post pay for the most basic no experience type jobs. Anything else can be sorted out in an interview. If some guy calls and the first thing he asks is how much the pay is than I’m probably not interested. Tell a company what you have to offer them and they will tell you what they can offer to you.

I hire a bunch of staff. I would rather have them tell their expected range first or have a relative range on the posting. It saves a ton of time prior to the interview process. For internal candidates I usually know about what their current position pays.

We get a bunch that think a position pays 150% or more of what it does. Usually those have less than 50% of the skill needed.

If you have a unrelated degree it doesn’t mean much to me.
