Assuming that after the 1 or 2 year drought it returns to full pool, do you think it helps or hurts the long-term fishing?

My thought is it might help lower fishing pressure due to diminishing lake access. Thus also impacting the amount of fish removed for harvesting. The shoreline growth would also cause a positive impact for fry and bait fish once the water level returns.

Lower water hasn’t slowed down the fishing boats in the lakes I frequent. It has slowed the ski boats, but fisherman will find a way to get their boats in the water.

Lower water means more fish are being caught and eaten, less cover to hide in. But assuming the grass and brush grows during the drought, it will help a few years after the lake refills.

The big picture, low water creates growth of brush and forms of cover for bait. Bait growth means fish growth.

Lots of vegetation grew while the water was down. Get out your frogs out. Mice, moles, rats, lizards, and worms will be running for cover!

One of my favorite fishing scenarios is fishing in the spring time in areas that have been high and dry and grown up in vegetation. If a lake has a good bass population they'll be prowling those areas feeding and looking for a place to spawn,

Most lakes flourish 2-5 years after they fill up after experiencing a severe drought
