I am new to striper fishing, can someone describe what "thumper" fishing is? Sounds cool but I have no idea.
Thanks

There are two types of devices that help bring fish to your boat, a splasher (trolling motor with propeller) that imitates fish feeding on top and a thumper which essentially creates vibrations by tapping on your hull. This simulates fish feeding under water. You don’t have to have either to catch fish but they are incredibly useful tools to have in your tool box…
I have a YouTube channel with about 100 videos about it…

https://youtube.com/c/Thump%E2%80%99emupFishingchannel Not gimmicks to further line ones pockets ! These devices truly work in the most adverse conditions. Been thumping for over 10 years . An angler can set up on fish, bait, an ambush spot etc and thump . If no fish respond within 10 minutes, pack up and go to next spot . A savvy angler can hang his/her hat on the results.

Using thumper and live bait on the river channels in the morning!

Thanks! I never have much luck with slabs but don’t use them very often either…

I fished with a guide on Conroe that took a broom handle and used it as a thumper. It worked. When he started thumping, the hybrids started to hit.

They work good and are cheap but they are a pain to use especially if you are thumping and fishing at the same time!

Nice haul. I haven't been put after stripers on Texoma on a month. Hope to get out Friday or Saturday. They in the main lake towards the dam?

RDA, I was out there by the dam on Tuesday evening. The bite was very slow for me and I had to work for the few I got. I managed eight with two overs.
Good luck and let us know how you do.
