So our trip was a bust as far as the surf went. 1st gut, 2nd gut…? It all looked the same: like chocolate milk! The wind has been brutal for months now! Plus the grass was as bad as I’ve experienced. Couldn’t leave your bait out for 5 minutes without dragging in 5 pounds of salad! With a real strong rip tide the grass gave a pretty good fight though!🤔🤪 We did go down to San Lois Pass and fished around the corner by the county park and had some luck. If I fished in the current close to the bridge the grass was just as bad as in the surf and you spent all your time reeling in salad. By going “around the corner” close to the county’s RV park you got out the direct current and way less salad so you could actually FISH! Caught some whiting, small hammerhead, catfish…. Going again in October. Hope it’s way better then.

Get a spot on the canal and take some lights. Last October I didn't have to leave the house.

I could catch a limit of reds and trout before 11 o'clock every night.
