Chris young was a spare pitcher at best Any pitcher that ever makes an appearance in the majors is hardly spare. The dude was a professional athlete, and I doubt you even played in High School. I was told this by a friend that worked for the Rangers at the time. This was after Daniels was promoted to GM. Nolan, Ron Washington and Jon Daniels were having a meeting and Jon Daniels said he was going to fire a long time coach(I can’t remember his name) and Nolan objected. My friend said Daniels told Nolan in no uncertain terms that he was running the Rangers and he better get used to it. The guy said Nolan started around the desk for Daniels and Ron Washington stopped him. The next day Nolan announced he was selling his stock and leaving the Rangers. My friend said this was why when Washington asked for personal leave at the end of the season, that Daniels let him go. Now I have no way to prove any of this except to say my friend worked at the ball park for 10 years and is still working for the team in Arizona.

You don't get to the World Series in '10-'11 without JD's trades. Sending Teixeira to Atlanta was JD That was pure luck. You don’t even come close to the WS without Nolan. Wash and Nolan’s influence far exceeded anything JD did. Good riddance. Nolan didnt have jack squat to do with it. Look at the roster, when they got here, and how they were acquired. I actually gained more respect for Nolan after watching his documentary, i was pretty young while he was a Ranger. He also got cross with the other owner during that time frame.
