When you hit the retaining wall and your boat V's your truck cab and lands in front of you 😬

There were no injuries. That should have been our call but another truck was rolling through and was closer.

Apparently his boat was not secured to the trailer. I bet he was a [censored] show at the ramp too.

Those little ratchet straps fail pretty often. This guy hit the jersey barrier and then had a bumpy ride. I doubt any strap would have done much.

Chained down at both back anchor points and the bow anchor point and it still would have gone over the truck. There would have been pieces of fiberglass and hold down points on the ends of the chains.

Everyone is thinking it, so I will say it. That's one less ski boat we have to worry about on the water.

What are the odds he was not over going over the speed limit?

Glad everyone was ok. If there were folks in the back seats that is amazing if they were not hurt at all.

Muddy driver seat syndrome often occurs with these situations.

Those odds may be better than you think. That area on I-35 backs up constantly and often you cannot run much over 30-40mph there.

It looks like the bow strap is spooled, so I'm betting he at least had that on...

I'm not a mathemagician or a rocket surgeon but I think it's a safe bet the boat came off the trailer due to the impact of the wreck itself. I don't think the straps would have made a difference either way. I am just thankful no one was hurt.

We have both seen it before---Those straps don't make much difference in a wreck of any kind.
