They've announced that they will hire an interim manager. I'm not sure I would take that job, knowing that I may not have it at the end of September.
Anybody will be in better shape to win next year. Even with all they spent this year it was kinda common knowledge that they were setting up to contend next season, so it's a bit krappy that they fired Woody now.
I'm thinking that the Rangers will be big players in the FA market again this off-season, hopefully shopping for pitching.

Horrible ownership group; can’t believe they haven’t flipped the franchise yet; the sooner the better.
They forced out Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg; two people that dedicated their lives to the game.
The Rangers used to play in “The Ballpark” and now in Choctaw Stadium.
Can’t find home games on the local TV anymore.
Dismal.

I have seen that exact line here, this time of year, for the last 6 years. I do see a road map to them being decent next year. Not a legit contender to win it all but maybe a playoff team.

I could care less about the Rangers but Woodward is the worst manager I have seen in the Majors in the last 20 years.

6-24 in 1-run games. I don't know how much of that's on Woody but that's terrible. Historically bad, you kinda expect a manager to make the decisions to allow you a chance to win games like that. That being said you can't get blood from a turnip, if there are no moves to make because you have a bench full of has-been's or never will be's then you're pretty well a dead man walking.

you can spend all the money you want on offense , but pitching and defense wins championships .
Rangers are not a good pitching team ---- when your starters don't go long into games --- its wears out the middle relief to the point of being ineffective .

The Rangers need to get the best pitching coaches they can find at major and minor league levels to optimize the assets they have there. That is their best hope for getting back to the playoffs.
